Welcome to Global Money Week 2025.

Hello, I'm the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman, Liam Sloyan, and I'm pleased to be supporting Global Money Week.

Global Money Week is an annual, global, campaign to encourage young people to be financially aware and learn how to make sound financial decisions. Part of improving your financial awareness, is knowing what we do and how we can help you.

We've developed a short video for Global Money Week explaining the role of an ombudsman and I hope you'll find it helpful.

We will also be highlighting case studies of complaints received by us, where fraud was a factor in the complaint. These case studies describe some of the many ways in which people were scammed into losing their savings. I cannot stress enough, that if an offer sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
