Overview of Complaints

My name is Liam Sloyan, and I'm the Financial Services and Pension Ombudsman. Our role is to resolve complaints made by consumers about their banking, insurance, investment and pension providers. We’re publishing an Overview of Complaints for 2023.

During the year we resolved over 5,000 complaints from consumers in relation to a range of matters including customer service, maladministration, miss-selling, disputed transactions claims handling and others. Our work resulted in outcomes worth nearly €5 million for consumers in addition to directions to Providers to rectify their conduct.

This work benefits all consumers through influencing better conduct in the financial services and pensions sectors.
